So… This was weird…

Today I found myself even more swamped with work than usual, pressured by the due date of my Conan internship application being only mere hours away and more. I began to have that whole “I wish there was more time to get everything done” train of thought, which happens about every 46 seconds here at Emerson College for most of us.

I had woken up early, and taken advantage of that time, by writing six drafts of my cover letter for Conan. There wasn’t much of a moment that I wasn’t going at full speed from 10 AM until 10 PM, just now. I hadn’t eaten all day until we got a 10 minute break in my four hour Lost class.

That’s a normal day here at Emerson, nothing weird so far. But it was during my Lost class that I realized something: Today had time all over it.

  1. Woke up earlier than usual to have more time to address my workload, and to also let in a man from facilities to fix my ceiling (he didn’t show up…)
  2. Found myself having multiple conversations with friends about how we all needed more time today than usual.
  3. A package I had ordered finally came… What was in that package? A watch and a bottle of melatonin pills for sleeping. The quintessential ”get ahold of the concept of time” package.
  4. As I was realizing this in Lost class, we were discussing and watching the vast topic of time travel and temporality in Lost.

So, in conclusion…

“This is heavy.”

DIY of the Day: Volpin Props’ Harrison Krix spent four months constructing a fully functional Daft Punk helmet modeled after the one worn by Thomas Bangalter.
Because a replica Daft Punk helmet is only as awesome as the DeLorean you’re standing next to, Krix went and found himself a DeLorean to stand next to.
See the rest of the DeLorean photoshoot here. Blueprints and process shots of the build can be found here, here, and here. A  time-lapse of the helmet’s construction can bee seen below:
